The Express Entry, the approach wherein the candidates get an opportunity to be a permanent resident of Canada has seen a significant downfall in 2018 as compared to the year 2017. There were a substantial number of international students who were invited to immigrate via Canada’s Express Entry Program which later got dropped. According to the data gathered by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), both i.e. the number of Express Entry invitations and invitations issued for the candidates graduated from Canada University was low in 2018.
The Express Entry System
Express entry is a system designed by the Canadian government for the candidates who have higher rankings in their language skills, work experience, and education. The immigrants who are refugees and have sponsorship through their families are not considered under the process.
The system comprises of three special programs defined for the candidates who are skilled tradespeople, skilled workers, experienced professional in Canada and applications nominated by provinces.
The number of graduated candidates who have succeeded the Express entry exam has declined by 25 percent in 2018. Of the total candidates, 22,897 invited to apply, which was 30,650 in 2017. The very major reason why declination of Express entry candidates is because the Canada government has increased the quota for the immigrants and enrollment of new candidates in Canada has also surged drastically. “The structure of language points in Express entry system might be the reason for the degradation of Express entry candidates.” – said Will Tao, Immigration and Refugee lawyer, Vancouver, Canada. The express entry system doesn’t showcase the detailed report about the scores of selected candidates due to which it’s hard to find why students not receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
